What each hair question is really asking
This is geometry rather than a style guide. Each question below belongs to one of the three ratios, and that ratio is named. This is the data set's own reading of its own numbers — not a standard from anywhere else.
- Where is the width on this row? At the jaw: 1.02, above the cheekbones, while the forehead sits at 0.80.
- A bangs or fringe question. It belongs to the forehead ratio, 0.80, the narrow end here.
- A length question — long hair or short. It belongs to the length ratio, 1.32.
- A jaw or lower-third question. It belongs to the jaw ratio, 1.02 — the only jaw ratio in the file above 1.00.
- A "hairstyles for a triangle face" question. That phrasing hides all three numbers; say which of 1.32, 0.80 or 1.02 the answer is meant to move.

Four rows, one file. Sorting the forehead column of that file places triangle near the bottom: 0.80 is the second-lowest forehead ratio of the seven, above only diamond's 0.74. A narrow forehead against a wide jaw is the geometry every upper-face hair question on this page comes back to.

Is the jaw the widest part on a triangle face shape?
Yes, by this file: 1.02 against the cheekbones, the only jaw ratio among the seven above 1.00. Every other row keeps the jaw at or below the cheekbone width.
How is the bangs question different here than on a heart face shape?
By the forehead ratio. Triangle sits at 0.80; heart sits at 1.00. That is a 0.20 difference on the same column, which is why the two pages point at different numbers.
