Which ratio each hair question depends on
This is geometry rather than a style guide. Every question below belongs to one of the three ratios, and that ratio is named. It is this data set's own reading of its own numbers, not a standard from anywhere else.
- Where is the width on this row? Between the middle and the narrow end: 0.86 at the forehead and 0.76 at the jaw, both under the cheekbone width.
- A bang or fringe question. It depends on the forehead ratio, 0.86.
- A length question — long hair or short. It depends on the length ratio, 1.45.
- A jaw or lower-third question. It depends on the jaw ratio, 0.76.
- A "best haircut for an oval face" question. That phrasing hides all three numbers. Name the one you want moved — 1.45, 0.86 or 0.76 — and the file can answer it.
No cut names, no styling steps and no promises about how a style will look appear on this page. The file holds ratios rather than instructions, and nothing is invented to close that gap.

Every number in that column is arithmetic on the two rows it names — nothing is carried over from how other places describe oval and oblong. Sorting the forehead column of the file shows where oval sits: 0.86 is the third-lowest forehead ratio of the seven, with only diamond's 0.74 and triangle's 0.80 below it.
